February 2023 - Part-Time Engagement
Our Founder John Mulhall has started working on his debut novel Soldersee, which he expects to finish by the end of 2023. The part-time slot for Maolte Technical Services will be thus taken up on this exciting project. You can still engage John in the DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure and/or Writing areas on a full-time basis (30-40 hours a week) including off-hours support for the right contract. October 2022 - First Client Contract
It gives us great pleasure to announce the completion of our first client contract today. The contract was limited to the production of content for one educational article on a site reliability topic. The part-time contract slot for our services is once more available.
October 2022 - COVID-19 Resolution
John after 14 days been covid positive has tested negative today for COVID. This impacting dose of covid is finally subsiding and normal operations will incrementally resume over the coming 14 days. Contract operations have already resumed as have demo projects. More updates coming up so stay tuned for updates

John has tested positive for an impacting version of COVID today so will be suspending routine operations for Maolte Technical Solutions Limited initially for the 7-day period prescribed in Ireland. He looks forward to a speedy recovery and resuming normal operations very soon. Stay tuned for updates.
September 2022 - AZ-104 Azure Administrator Certification Renewal
Great to have passed the Microsoft Azure renewal assessment for the Azure Administrator Associate certification. John's certification as an Azure Cloud Administrator is now extended to 17th February 2024.
August 2022 - Site UX Issue
A new module integration into our site's production code during the site upgrade was completed causing a misrender of an image folder making the site impossible to navigate over the last 12-15 hours. We confirm the fix was propagated into the production codebase and has been propagating out to global CDN networks upgrading your browser view for the last 3-6 hours. We confirm the issue is now resolved and would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused to your browsing experience.
August 2022 - HCTAO-002 Hashicorp Terraform Associate
Certified in his DevOps Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technology. It certifies my understanding of what is available to build terraform pipelines and how to build them as a cloud-agnostic option in DevOps.
July 2022 - AWS Solutions Architect Associate
Another milestone was reached in my certification path by certifying in the SAA-C02 AWS Solutions Architect Associate exam. It certifies my ability to design and build secure and robust solutions using architectural design principles based on customer requirements.
July 2022 - Company Incorporation
It gives me great pleasure to confirm my limited company Maolte Technical Solutions Limited trading as Maolte was incorporated. It is followed by a flurry of follow-up activities, which we are working hard on. These subsequent setup steps completed will normalise my new trading environment. Stay tuned for developments in this epic time of change noting the launch will include a site update with new content for you is in progress and on the way.
June 2022 - Site Outage
A technical glitch caused a partial outage on the site today. In line with good practice, I troubleshot the issue and found the root cause of the 500 error. I have enacted my disaster recovery protocols and restored the site to its full health, also taking steps to mitigate the risk of it happening in the future. I would like to apologise for the degraded user experience today and look forward to bringing you the planned content revision of my site to celebrate the launch of Maolte Technical Solutions Limited.
May 2022 - Leaving Permanent Employment
Now is an opportune time for a preview of exciting news coming down the tracks at Maolte. After reviewing my current market intelligence on IT and Writing demand for contractors in the marketplace along with project preparation, I handed in my notice at Sage with a view to focusing on contracting full-time. I met with my accountant last Friday and have mapped out this milestone development in order to upgrade Maolte to a limited company. I will be trading at some point in June as an Engineer, Writer and now Founder. Do stay tuned for exciting times ahead.
February 2022 - Azure Cloud Administrator Associate
Another certification milestone was achieved today when I passed the AZ-104 Azure Cloud Administrator Associate exam. This certification is a key milestone due to the broad range of areas covered in Azure, which coupled with my existing cloud engineering knowledge has functionally improved my working knowledge of the Azure platform. January 2022 - AWS SysOps Administrator Exam
It gives me great pleasure to announce the passing of my first AWS certification exam. Yesterday, I sat and passed the SOA-C02 AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate exam, which is part of my certification path as a DevOps and Infrastructure Engineer. November 2021 - New Job and Exam Success
I have two updates for you. Firstly, it gives me great pleasure to announce my appointment to Sage Software as a Full-Time CloudOps Engineer starting November 15th, 2021. I will be joining a CloudOps team and getting the opportunity to work on multi-stack production environments alongside my colleagues supporting Sage's cloud offering. Secondly and as exciting, I have sat and passed by a comfortable margin the Certified Kubernetes Administrator exam. This was my first all-practical exam on servers ever under time pressure and a true learning experience in Kubernetes. I have shared my CKA experiences on my blog at https://maolte.ie/blog/25-certified-kubernetes-administrator-exam, which is a good read for technology lovers and a must-read for anybody studying for the CKA.
